Cieľom kurzu Multikultúrne aspekty literatúry USA je rozšíriť poznatky študentov z oblasti histórie a kultúry USA. Študenti si počas kurzu systematicky zdokonaľujú svoje schopnosti v oblasti analýzy a interpretácie textov patriacich do domorodej americkej, africko-americkej, čínsko-americkej, židovskej, čikánskej a menšinovej literatúry. Študenti sa počas kurzu naučia, ako jednotlivé multikultúrne aspekty prezentovať formou interaktívnych aktivít.
Obdobie romantizmu
Cieľom kurzu Obdobie romantizmu je získať základný prehľad o tvorbe anglických a amerických predstaviteľov romantizmu. Študent nadobúda konkrétnu skúsenosť s literárnymi dielami, ktoré dokáže zasadiť do príslušného kultúrno-spoločenského kontextu, dokáže kriticky reflektovať naštudované diela, operatívne využíva kritickú literárnu terminológiu a vie si obhájiť svoje argumenty, aktívne využíva kritické a kreatívne myslenie, dokáže pracovať individuálne, vo dvojiciach aj v skupinách. Študent sa dokáže efektívne zapájať do diskusie, rieši problémy v skupine a podieľa sa na intelektuálnej tímovej práci, získava praktické prezentačné zručnosti, dokáže samostatne a pútavo prezentovať vybraný problém, erudovane argumentovať a presvedčiť o svojich argumentoch a počas prípravy prezentácie dokáže kompetentne využiť odborné primárne a sekundárne zdroje.

The course introduces students to the general concepts of the business world and seeks to impart terminology and structures appropriate to business and related fields, improve communication skills in professional contexts such as interviews, presentations, meetings and reports and to improve general speaking and communication skills
Odborná angličtina
The course is intended to acquaint students with the particular registers of English used in a variety of professional contexts, including lexical and grammatical structures. In order to achieve this, it will also be necessary to introduce the fundamental concepts associated with these professions. The aim of the course is to not only to encourage students to understand these structures in a passive sense, but also to start activating them via class use, role play etc.

The course is intended to improve general communication and presentation skills in professional contexts such as interviews, presentations, meetings and reports. The course also aims to develop knowledge of the modern professional environment including more specific fields such as marketing, advertising and communication and to develop practical skills related specifically to the fields of business, accounting and public relations.
Odborná komunikácia: register práva
The course aims to introduce students to general concepts of the law such as the difference between criminal law and civil law, and civil-law and common-law traditions, develop knowledge of the language of the law as used in contexts such as contracts and the courts in English-speaking jurisdictions, and develop skills in reading and writing legal documents, such as contracts.

V rámci predmetu sa študent sa oboznámi so základnými aspektmi odborného písomného prejavu, štruktúrou odseku ako základného prvku textu, jednotlivými typmi esejí a osvojí si základy procesu písania – interpunkciu, tvorbu osnovy, konceptu a výstavby textu.
Osobnostný a profesionálny rozvoj učiteľa
Predmet sa venuje širokému spektru tém, ktorých ústredným cieľom je rozvíjať osobnosť budúceho učiteľa a predstaviť mu komplexný kontext súčasnej edukácie. Predmet venuje pozornosť aktuálnym otázkam a výzvam v oblasti cudzojazyčného vzdelávania, vrátane problematiky koučingu vo vzdelávaní, networkingu a problematiky trvalo udržateľného rozvoja v oblasti vzdelávania a výchovy.

Predmet sa zameriava na historický prehľad o vývine britskej koloniálnej politiky, problematike britského impéria v jeho počiatkoch, na vrchole a i na ústupe.

The course focuses on the analysis of post-colonial British minority writing and its comparison with colonial literature and modern minority writing.

The course provides students with comprehensive knowledge of postcolonial literature and its development throughout the 20th century. Being rooted in crucial theoretical essays and literary works, students become familiar with basic terminology of postcolonial literary studies that will be applied during interpretations of selected literary texts.

The course is based on the close-reading of the short stories of the 19th and 20th century Anglophone writers. It is designed to help students advance their presentation skills, interpretative skills and critical thinking in approaching literary texts. The texts will be examined through a thorough contextual (biographical, historical and cultural) analysis.
