This course is designed to introduce students to different varieties of English and develop students’ skills in recognising and analysing their lexical, grammatical, phonological and orthographical features. These varieties might be related to the geographical situation, ethnicity, gender, social class and professional and social context of the user. They also include registers, genres and styles.
